When I was 13 years old, I really wanted to get a dog.
As any normal teenager would do, I concluded the best way to convince my parents was through a formal presentation.
At this time, we had just gotten our first computer at home and I taught myself how to use PowerPoint. I put together a persuasive slideshow and presented it to my parents.
We did get a dog, and a young communications professional was born!
In University, I studied Anthropology, specifically social and linguistic anthropology. I minored in Latin American Studies and Gender Studies. I loved exploring the diversity of human experience. I traveled, lived abroad and completed internships in Sustainability and Ecotourism while working on my Communications degree. A foundational experience was living with a family in a rural Guatemalan town to learn Spanish.
I have spent my career working in non-profits, government, small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs. I find my passion in using my skills to help create social good and benefit the lives of others. I also love the challenge of working with limited resources to make a large and sustainable impact.
In my personal life, I love volunteering, spending time outdoors and with family and friends. I am an avid gardener and love growing indoor plants.
I love to travel, whether discovering a local business in a small town near home or around the world to more remote destinations. I recharge by hiking, camping, snowshoeing, and any other outdoor activity I can find.
